I agree and didn't he and hasn't he been saying all along that this isn't going to be an overnight thing - he is doing the best he can with as little time he's had. If you all remember this was happening WAYYY before he became President!! Give the man time - Like the previous comment said he doesn't walk on water and only God can do what everyone is hoping he can do. Do I like what's going on Hell no!!! Do I agree or disagree with Grassley's comment? Yes and No - No I don't want anyone to die, but I think they should literally sink instead of being kept afloat. Here is my question that I haven't heard anyone ask - Would those 73 employees and 11 past employees have gotten these bonuses if they wouldn't have gotten the bailout money? My opinion says NO since they didn't have any money, so what makes them think if the company isn't making money they should get bonuses? Any company that I have ever worked for where they get bonuses it's based on profits the company has earned - WELL, I haven't heard that AIG has made any profits have any of you?

Saddened by the fact that we keep bailing the sick bastards out!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET THEM GO UNDER!!!! Maybe they should think about giving that money to the people - if we would all get that money in our hands with every person that is age 18 years old and a US Citizen we would all have over $300,000 each (this number was configured only by the 1st $85 billion that AIG received so with $170 billion that would double the amount each person should get), boy wouldn't that stimulate the economy? Hmmmm

Congress did not appropriate monies for AIG's big bailout. It was the Federal Reserve who gave them $85 Billion back on September 16, 2008. Before the present administration and Congress were even elected.
